Mt. Sinai ME/CFS conference - De Meirleir lecture
Six presentations were given at the Mt. Sinai ME/CFS Research and Treatment Center conference on Sunday November 20, 2011. Here is a lecture delivered by Dr. Kenny De Meirleir, who practices medicine in Brussels. Dr. De Meirleir has worked with ME/CFS patients for many years and is seen as one of the foremost ME/CFS Clinician/Researchers. Dr. De Meirleir spoke for a half-hour on the compassionate use of GcMAF in this patient population. Dr. De Meirleir will be associated with this new ME/CFS Center at Mt. Sinai- as a clinical consultant.
The video and audio was made by Peter and Nicholas Cairns.

Thank you so much for this. Great information and presented so clearly. I appreciate that the slides were highlighted. Thank you Peter and Nicholas.
ReplyDeleteI suspect the alternative mechanism Dr. De Meirleir refers to is hydrogen sulfide, as he became extremely excited about my research when he became aware of it and has continued to use the thiol-H2S urine test as a measure of the Gc-MAF effectiveness. If so, why not share this with others?
ReplyDeleteSaw Dr. Cheney Friday and Monday to learn how to make and use MAF 314. This talk is a great adjunct to all Dr. Cheney had to say.

Thanks Consuegra, It is great to see the video and all the slides. I will be seeing Prof. De Meirleir in the next few weeks and really appreciate seeing his talk beforehand.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much (Chris, Peter and Nicholas)for making this video available.
ReplyDeleteIt contains a great deal of info and for me it's easy to take in with all those slides.
I think the work de Meirleir's doing is very interesting.
Thanks again for keeping us close to the action!
Thank you for providing the opportunity to watch this interesting speech. Did De Meirleir comment on whether the treatment with Gc-Maf is a "switch" in the complex immune system problems in ME/CFS, ie a one-time treatment or does he believe that patients will be needing treatments with Gc-Maf for the rest of their lives?
ReplyDeleteDr. Cheney thinks it will likely be a one time though many month long treatment with perhaps a need for some remedial therapy. Once the
ReplyDeleteMAF 314 brings the nagalase down to normal the immunocompetence should regain control. He thinks probiotics will be useful thereafter.
Thanks for this. Quite a long trip for Dr. De Meirleir to deliver one lecture and then hop back on the plane straight back to the Netherlands.
ReplyDeletethank you so much for making this video available to us information-starved patients. something like this is a life-line for us. -- rivka
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing this to our attention and well done to Peter and Nicolas. Looks like a very important piece of the puzzle. I know my Nagalase is sky high and I also tested strongly positive for hydrogen sulfide. I wonder if anyone in the UK is offering GcMaf as a treatment?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Consuegra! As regards bio chemistry I'm also clueless but notice this GCMaf seemingly deals w/ the role of B cells as does the recently discussed Chemotherapy substance found to help patients in Norway. Is there a common denominator here? Thanks
ReplyDeleteBest explanation I've seen of theory and data on GcMAF. Wonderful information, great lecture. Thanks again for everyone who made this possible and public. I will be recommending these videos to my new chronic illness doctor.
ReplyDeleteThe affect of B-cell dysfunction on the immune system seems to cause CFS symptoms, and medication that suppress B-cells seems to help is my take on this.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've gotten from the Norwegian studies, where Rituximab eradicated CFS symptoms in 2/3 of people tested, but temporarily.
Can't wait to hear more about this.
In the last few minutes he says those who had IRIS he found a 'hidden B-what infection, which is not so common'
